Beatrix Potter Collection – branded microsite

A branded, optimised microsite on behalf of Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions, to represent an amazing Beatrix Potter collection of first edition books, manuscripts, photographs, artwork, Peter Rabbit figurines and other collectables. The site included links to other important Beatrix Potter resources, and was used to encourage cross promotion with the Beatrix Potter Society and publishers Frederick Warne (Penguin)┬ávia their Peter Rabbit website, as well as promoting the auction primarily as an Exhibition to get picked up by TimeOut London and the Guardian’s n0tice at an early stage, as well as such august trade publications as the Antiques Trade Gazette.

The website included newsletter sign-up directly to Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions’ VerticalResponse campaign, incorporated Bloomsbury Auction’s colour scheme (combined with the blue from Peter Rabbit’s jacket and other elements from the Peter Rabbit books) and used modified WooCommerce to represent highlights from the Beatrix Potter collection, with auction estimate rather than purchase price. A personal relationship was developed with the vendor Mark Ottignon, allowing us to get quotes from him regarding his Beatrix Potter collection up onto the site way in advance of the auction catalogue.

A private page was created to allow Beatrix Potter society members to sign-up for a special weekend viewing, and there was a facility to request a catalogue at a discount for orders via the website. There was also a Japanese landing page to take into account the massive popularity of Beatrix Potter in Japan.
